Valvasor, Janez Vajkard. "Opus Insignium Armorumque 1687 - 1688 Das Grosse Wappenbuch". pp 68, 110, 244.
The arms represent the Mordax family, in which one or more were members of the provincial committee of Carniola (68); and who also were regarded as a noble family who were in possession of estates in Carniola (110); the arms depicted on plate 244 is in the section of Valvasor's armory which contains arms of noble Carinthian families. It is curious to note that the arms are depicted exactly the same as in plates 68 and 110, however, the field is Sable (black) rather than Gules (red).
