Aleksander Hribovšek

Slovenia

, born in Celje, Slovenia, where he attended both primary and secondary schools, where he concentrated on classical studies. At a very early age, he became involved with aeronautics as a glider pilot and participated in two state championships. After the secondary school, he became involved in history at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts, Department of History. Aleksander is now employed at the City Museum of Ljubljana as the Organizer of Public Programmes and Multimedia. His residence is now in Ljubljana.

He discovered very early in the 90's that Slovenian heraldry should be revived after being dormant for more than 80 years. He is a founder and creator of a web-based resource of Slovenian heraldry in 2007 - Slovenska heraldika, and is a member of the Commission for Public Symbols, Coat of Arms, Flag, Seals and Stamps Judgment within the department of the State Archives. He is fluent in Slovene, English and also possesses working knowledge of German and Latin languages.
